Various functions for safe machine operation
The application software CAS triggers collision warnings and offers collision avoidance via automatic deceleration (optional) based on the recognized objects from the radar. The Bosch Rexroth Collision avoidance system CAS helps OEMs to assess the criticality of the detected objects by the radar sensor and combines this information with the information available on machine level.
Ego motion prediction reduces false positives
By using the machine's path prediction and assessing objects based on their criticality and predicted paths, many false warnings can be avoided.
Easy integration into existing drivetrains
The system is designed for easy integration into existing drivetrain topologies for a broad range of applications. The electronic and CAN interfaces allow for the realization of passive systems (collision warning system in the sense of ISO 21815-1) and active systems (collision avoidance system in the sense of ISO 21815-2). Also, the communication from CAS system to drive train controller is handled via the ISO 21815-3.
Only basic radar knowledge is required
If the plug and run solution ASrun is used, no further
programming and software development is necessary. The required knowledge about radar technology is therefore limited as the Rexroth CAS software takes care about the radar.
Integrated safety functions
The application software CAS is developed according to EN ISO 13849, ISO 19014 and ISO 25119. The BODAS controller with the CAS software can act as one sensor system and enables the machine manufacturer to realize safety functions based on CAS.
