SSM - SEMI SOLID METAL
The SSM hybrid process provides a remedy to the aforementioned
disadvantages of the conventional aluminum die
casting process.
From semi-solid thixotropic
alloys of aluminum and tin, in a combination of die
casting and forging
processes, aluminum metal parts are produced
with very low air inclusions, high strength and toughness. SEMI SOLID METAL (SSM) aluminum
components are also heat
treatable, weldable and pressure tight.
