FL3X TAP 1000BASE-TI
Configuration is fully web-based or via REST API, with
import and export functions simplifying the transfer of settings in complex
test environments. A 4 GB buffer with timestamp recalibration ensures that no
data is lost even under high load. In addition to pure mirroring, the device
supports functions such as traffic shaping, packet filtering, and targeted
injections for diagnostic purposes. The Plus variant forwards traffic even
without power supply, increasing operational safety.
The FL3X TAP captures all Ethernet packets and layers,
including AVB/TSN, making it suitable for modern vehicle architecture. Its
combination of technical precision and ease of use makes it a practical tool
for developers and test engineers. In ECU communication validation, the FL3X
TAP enables lossless capture of traffic between control units to verify
protocol compliance and timing.
For infotainment and driver assistance systems relying
on AVB and TSN, nanosecond-accurate timestamping provides precise evaluation of
real-time capability. Even in cases of sporadic network errors, the FL3X TAP
delivers complete packet data to quickly identify causes such as faulty frames
or timing issues. In hardware-in-the-loop environments, the device can be
configured automatically via REST API and integrated seamlessly into test
workflows.
Outlook:
STAR® is already working on the next generation: the FL3X TAP 10GBASE-T1. This
device will support two TAP channels for 10GBASE-T1 and is expected to be
available in the second quarter of 2026, taking high-speed Ethernet analysis in
the automotive sector to a new level.
