The session will focus on the technology development of autonomous driving systems for off-highway trucks (e.g. for the mining industry). 3SK led the design and development of a driverless off-highway vehicle, adding a new technology kit into existing legacy vehicles. This kit enabled vehicles to be self-driven and teleoperated in a safe and reliable way. Key topics will include the systems engineering approach to the design and development of autonomous mining trucks; application of functional safety standards (IEC 61508, ISO 19014); and the application of SOTIF (Safety of the intended functionality) based on ISO 21448 for the autonomous system.
