Sustainable potentiometer for wear-free signal generation

Sustainable potentiometer for wear-free signal generation

EBE Sensors + Motion will display its new MPE19 Hall potentiometer at the expo. The system offers wear-free signal generation thanks to an integrated magnetic sensor, ensuring extremely high durability.

The MPE19 is suitable for use in human-machine interfaces (HMI) in almost all industries and can replace conventional high-quality wire and cermet potentiometers. With a diameter of 19mm and a height of about 20mm behind the front panel, the potentiometer is particularly compact. The robust central mounting is done via an M10 x 0.75mm thread with flattenings (D-profile), which allows the potentiometer to be mounted securely and stably.

Developed for 1,000,000 operating cycles with detent, the MPE19 promises an extremely long service life. Conventional high-quality potentiometers usually offer a maximum of fewer than 50,000 operating cycles – far fewer with limit switches. The MPE19 exceeds this by a factor of 20. It also offers an adjustable detent mechanism or, alternatively, no detent with end stops. In addition, the sealed shaft together with the panel seal ensures complete protection against the ingress of dust and water in accordance with IP protection requirements. This allows flexible use in a wide range of applications, such as machine controls, settings on tractors and construction machinery, and the regulation of settings in sound and lighting technology, as well as in medical technology.
