iVT Expo returned to Köln Messe, Germany June 10 & 11, 2026 for its biggest edition yet. Over 180 exhibitors showcased their latest technologies and solutions to thousands of professionals from across the off-highway industry.
Every stand offered visitors the opportunity to meet the team behind the tech, see components and, in some cases, whole vehicles up close.
Making its debut in Hall 1 this year, iVT Expo welcomed more visitors than ever before to explore each of the busy aisles bursting with innovations and new technologies. Just some of the highlights included:
- Vogel & Plötscher’s axial flux traction motor designed for mobile working machines, delivering high torque and power density in a compact, lightweight package
- TTControl’s FusionAI platform which supports the move toward software-defined machinery, combining display control, cloud gateway capability, camera/sensor-data processing and optional AI acceleration
- OEM S.r.l presented advanced harness solutions for autonomous, semi-autonomous and smart machines, designed to manage power and high-speed data across sensors, cameras, LiDAR, radar and ECUs
- Grayson Thermal Systems showcased its CM1-800V DC which combines battery heating and cooling, power electronics and traction motor cooling, and cabin HVAC in one chassis-mounted thermal module
- eW30 - an all-in-one electric wheel motor. As an all-in-one component, it saves OEMs time on design, production and sourcing as it’s just one part.
Since it’s conception in 2019, iVT Expo continues to be a place for the whole off-highway vehicle supply chain to get together to address the current industry challenges, meet new suppliers, strengthen current relationships and find solutions for current projects. From large, well-known industry players to up-and-coming solution providers, iVT Expo prides itself on giving its attendees a holistic view of the technology available. Including the current, latest technology solutions and a glimpse into what’s to come.
At this year’s edition, each exhibitor’s showcase was a testament to the industry as it constantly evolves and adapts to the challenges it faces. One of the key themes of discussion across the show floor was the electrification of off-highway vehicles.
Although not a new concept, for decades, electric prototypes were little more than weak, tethered, or short-lived novelties. However, a perfect storm of technological breakthrough, regulatory shifts, and economic logic has made major industry giants like Caterpillar, Volvo Construction Equipment, and John Deere pivot toward mass electrification.
Volvo Construction Equipment itself hosted multiple sessions on electrification at the Off-Highway Evolution Conference. First, a well-attended opening panel discussion which explored what was driving electrification today. Supported by global outlook facts and figures, the panel examined the technical, operational and commercial considerations facing OEMs and suppliers.
Also on the panel was Moog Construction, Scania Industrial Batteries and Doosan Bobcat. Together, they covered OEM perspectives on electrification at scale, infrastructure requirements and collaboration models. Operational and customer-driven challenges were also addressed, including diverse use cases, uptime expectations and integration issues.
Then, in the afternoon, Volvo Construction Equipment addressed voluntary market standards for electric construction equipment during a sessions with Zen in transition. The session explored how leading off-highway vehicle manufacturers are working collaboratively to support the wider adoption of zero-emission construction machinery. Bringing together perspectives from Komatsu, Volvo CE, Liebherr and VDL ETS, the OEM round table outlined the value of pre-competitive cooperation in establishing practical, open market standards for European users.
Discussion focused on the group’s first recommendations, including physical machine characteristics and standard charging protocols, and demonstrated why harmonisation is becoming increasingly important as electric construction equipment moves from early deployment to broader market uptake. For off-highway professionals, the session offered valuable insight into the standards that are likely to shape purchasing decisions, fleet integration and site operations in the years ahead.
Over both days of the event, the Off-Highway Evolution Conference hosted over 40 speakers and over 45 delegates, and featured an engaging program that covered a wide range of topics and discussions from across the off-highway vehicle industry. Including discussions on the latest regulations being introduced. Bosch Rexroth’s session on navigating the Cyber Resilience Act in mobile off-highway was a key highlight. With the CRA becoming mandatory by December 2027, the session highlighted the compliance challenges manufacturers would face in relation to EU market access and business continuity.
It examined the need for a holistic, lifecycle-based cyber security approach and showed how integrating security early, supported by proven engineering processes and ecosystems such as Bosch Rexroth’s BODAS, could turn compliance into strategic advantage. The presentation also outlined the timeline and key requirements of the Cyber Resilience Act and Machinery Regulation, while offering practical frameworks and methods for compliance.
After two days of unparalleled insights, the conference concluded with a forward-looking panel discussion on Nordic know-how and the next era of intelligent work machines. The session examined how heavy machinery, robotics, autonomy and sustainability were converging into a single integrated system. Expert panellists explored how the Nordic approach brought together academia, OEMs and startup ecosystems to deliver scalable, real-world intelligence in some of the world’s toughest operating environments.
Both the expo and conference at iVT Expo 2026 were a huge success with a large number of exhibitors already re-booked for 2027. Massimo Boscarino, emobility sales director at Poclain Hydraulics said, “We’ve had a very good reception of new customers and OEMs being interested in the products that we’ve introduced at iVT Expo. We’re very pleased to be exhibiting as it’s a very good opportunity for us to show the new innovations that we are bringing to the market.”
The event’s compact and specialised format continues to be well-received by both visitors and exhibitors year on year, with exhibitors praising the expo as a place to discover new ideas, see emerging products and hold productive technical conversations.
